Embarking on the journey of faith often entails stepping into the unknown, where uncertainty and pressure accompany each stride. Faith, by its very nature, involves risk—a willingness to trust in the unseen and to believe in the power of God to manifest His promises, even in the absence of immediate evidence.
In the pursuit of God's will, we find ourselves navigating the delicate balance between our individual passions and callings and the overarching mission of God's Kingdom. Regardless of our stage in life, how do we ensure that our personal aspirations align with His divine purpose?
Many of us harbor aspirations beyond our personal ambitions; we long to contribute meaningfully to God's work and to see His Kingdom flourish. Yet, there exists a common misconception—a divide between the realms of the supernatural and the natural. We perceive God as dwelling in the heavens, while we reside earthbound. Similarly, we often view missions as a separate entity, disconnected from the ordinary rhythm of life.
The biblical account of the burning bush, as narrated in Exodus 3, serves as a poignant reminder of God's active presence in the world. Despite the apparent separation between the realms of the supernatural and the natural, God continues to work through the mundane to accomplish His purposes. The burning bush, though engulfed in flames, remained unconsumed—an awe-inspiring testament to the sovereignty and presence of God.
As we take the first step of faith, venturing closer to behold the miraculous, God beckons us to listen—to heed His voice amidst the chaos of life. Just as Moses was commissioned to lead the Israelites out of bondage, so too are we called to participate in God's redemptive mission, bringing hope and liberation to a broken world.
Our calling is intricately woven into the tapestry of God's mission in the world. Rather than viewing mission as an isolated endeavor, we must recognize that the Church exists for the purpose of advancing God's Kingdom. Our prayers should shift from self-centered petitions to earnest inquiries into God's unfolding work in the world.
Yet, embracing our calling entails embracing the cross—a willingness to surrender our lives, ambitions, and comforts for the sake of the gospel. Just as Jesus bore the weight of the cross for the salvation of humanity, so too are we called to sacrificial living, persevering in our mission despite the challenges we may encounter.
Ultimately, our ambition should be directed towards one goal—the glory of God. When our hearts are aligned with His purposes, we find fulfillment and joy in our calling, knowing that our endeavors are ultimately serving His Kingdom.
In conclusion, our journey of faith unfolds at the intersection of calling and mission—a convergence of our individual aspirations and God's redemptive plan for the world. As we navigate this intersection, may we remain steadfast in our commitment to glorifying God in all that we do, finding joy and purpose in the fulfillment of His Kingdom purposes.
