A. Honour

1. Honour God

We gather in the house of the Lord to honour Him. Honour starts from within our hearts.

1 Samuel 2:30 – “...those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.”

Proverbs 3:9 – “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase.”

John 5:23 – “He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”

2. Honour parents and the aged

Exodus 20:12 – “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long...”

Leviticus 19:32 – “You shall rise before the gray headed and honor the presence of an old man...”

3. Honour those in authority

1 Peter 2:17 – “Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.”

1 Timothy 5:17 – “Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor...”

1 Timothy 6:1 – “...count their own masters worthy of all honor...”

4. Honour others

Romans 12:10 – “...in honor giving preference to one another.”

1 Peter 3:7 – “...giving honor to the wife...”

5. Honoured by God the Father

John 12:26 – “If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”

B. Health

Proverbs 3:7–8 – “...It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.”

Proverbs 16:24 – “Pleasant words... health to the bones.”

Isaiah 58:6,8 – “...your healing shall spring forth speedily...”

Jeremiah 30:17 – “For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds...”

Matthew 4:23 – “...healing all kinds of sickness...”

3 John 2 – “...that you may prosper in all things and be in health...”

C. Happy

As we earn our living, God wants us to enjoy the fruit of our labour. Be willing to work hard.

Proverbs 3:13 – “Happy is the man who finds wisdom...”

John 13:17 – “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.”

Psalm 144:15 – “Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!”

1 Peter 3:14 – “...you are blessed. ‘And do not be afraid of their threats...’”
