Are You In?

Our God is a personal God. It is time to examine our hearts and ask ourselves: Where are we in the Lord?
2 Corinthians 13:5 (ESV): "Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!"
Are You in the Father’s House?
Luke 2:49 (ESV): "And He [Jesus] said to them, 'Why were you looking for Me? Did you not know that I must be in My Father’s house?'"
Just as Jesus was in His Father's house, we too must ask ourselves: Are we truly in our Father’s house, fully committed to Him?
Limping Between Two Opinions
In 1 Kings 18:17–19, Elijah confronted King Ahab and the prophets of Baal. Then, he addressed the people of Israel:
1 Kings 18:21 (ESV): "How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him." And the people did not answer him a word.
Spiritually, some of us may be limping due to:
- Unresolved offenses in the church.
- Hurts from our biological or spiritual families.
- Struggles with God’s sovereignty over difficult circumstances.
Isaiah 43:2 (ESV): "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."
During the great showdown in 1 Kings 18:22–38, the fire of the Lord fell, proving His power. The people declared:
1 Kings 18:39 (ESV): "And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, 'The Lord, He is God; the Lord, He is God!'"
Today, some are limping between God and the world, unsure about serving in ministries or even staying in church. Where do you stand?
Are You in the Ark?
In Genesis 6, sin and corruption filled the earth. Yet, Noah remained righteous before God.
Genesis 7:1 (ESV): "Then the Lord said to Noah, 'Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.'"
Noah obeyed, despite mockery from those who did not believe the flood was coming. Similarly, many today doubt the second coming of Christ.
Genesis 7:16 (ESV): "And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in."
Jesus is the door to salvation. There will come a time when the Lord will shut the door. Will you be inside?
Serving in God’s House
In the ark, Noah’s family worked together for its upkeep. Likewise, we have responsibilities in the local church.
Luke 16:10 (ESV): "One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much."
1 Corinthians 12:12–13 (ESV): "For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so also is Christ."
We must encourage one another, not tear each other down. A divided house cannot stand.
Luke 11:17 (ESV): "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls."
Jesus Is the Door
John 10:9 (ESV): "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture."
Conclusion
Are you in? Have you made your decision to fully commit to God, His house, and His calling?
